Last Game was a Proud one

We should all be very proud of our boys. The last game they all played very, very well - and most importantly as a team.

It was a tough game and the first half we dominated in Hornsby RSL's half.

There was some real soccer happening - communication between the players, passing, good throw ins, corners, goalie'ing and tackling.

End result was a 2-1 down, but in no way did we lose.

Matthew did an excellent job in goals first half, and Alen did really well second half but had some bad luck.

Hudson ran with such vigor, Alen was so close to scoring his well timed goals and Anthony was passing the ball and scored the only goal very well. We missed Bailey away this week. Michael played well but tired! We had no reserves and started with 5 until Hudson ran on.

Man of the match went to Luke for extra effort and communicating very well with the team to plan moves etc.

A BIG thank you to Sead for Reffing the first half - It was a very hard game to ref, and it's not an easy job at all!

I had a word to the opposition ref after the game to find out more information on some of the penalites and communications he had during the game and I'm satisfied that he did the right thing. If anyone has any concerns with any parents behaviour at the games please let me or the club know. I certainly did not appreciate some of the comments coming from the Hornsby RSL's parents and am glad that most of you were distanced from it. The whole point of the game is for the boys to grow in a positive manner around good role models and enjoy themselves.

It was a pleasure to coach your boys this year, I saw all of them improve their soccer skills and teamwork. I have to say that it was a very challenging year compared to my previous year - mainly due to the diversity of individuals in the team. I can say now that they certainly are a team after that last game.

Email to come with all the information about Gala Day this Saturday.

regards,
Mark
