Green fields and yet another good win!
A few weeks break, no training and all the boys showed for our near midday game. They were all very keen to get on the field and play. The opponents where Wahroonga C's and in our previous encounter we had won 2-1.
Bailey went into the goals first half - eager to play there too! The First half saw us trying very hard to get a goal. Anthony had a shot in the air and out from a distance which the goalie palmed out off the post. Wahroonga's goalie was very good, as were their defense. Our attack after attack and we just couldn't get it in.
Matthew was playing very well - tackling and clearing to ball - to players too. Michael and Hudson was both trying very hard. Luke showed some good skills, and Alen was running around players with ease. Anthony got the first goal with a great shot and a missed save. The second goal of the match (also by Anthony) was by kicking it through the pack - hidden from the goalie's eyes.
Second half Hudson was in goals and wanted so badly to play in the mud puddle in front of him (he did well not too!). Bailey was on the field running everywhere and had a few shots. A short goalkick and some confusion led to the scores at 2-1 our way.
We spent most of the second half on their side again and Anthony got another goal making the final score 3-1.
Thanks to Marty for reffing, Alen's Mum, Michael's Dad, Luke's Mum for helping in the canteen. Thanks to Matthew's Dad for being available for the canteen. Our Canteen quota for the year is done.
Just three more games left before the Gala Day, followed by the Presentation day (All Saturday's).
This Saturday the proposed game start time is 8:30am kickoff at Greville St. I'll post a map later in the week.
At least half the parents responded positively to Mary Jo's idea of individual trophies on Presentation Day and I agree as well, so if you could get $5 to me soon I'll start to arrange it.
Man of the match went to Alen for a great overall game!
Regards,
Mark
