Sunday's Gala Day information
I've received information about Sunday's Gala Day. There is lots of information here so please scroll down. Sounds like it'll be a very fun day with at least 4 short games (20min each game).
Date : Sunday 25th June
Arrival Time : 9:00am to possible 3:00pm Presentation
Location : Oakleigh Oval, Thornleigh
Parking : 2 Car Parks - one from Gilbett Avenue, another from Quarter Sessions Road
What to Bring : Normal soccer gear - PLUS a white TSHIRT

Please be there around 9am. I have to get there at 8:30am to register.
Here are our allocated games :
9:30 am against West Pymble Buzzards
10:30am against Thornleigh Echnidas
11:30am against WPH
Then if we didn't do too well, we play next at
12:30 pm
Otherwise if we are in the top 2 of our Group (contains 4) we play at
1:00pm
If we were in the 12:30pm and we win, we then play in the
Medallion Semi Final at 1:30pm
If we are in the 1:00pm and we win, we then play in the
Trophy Semi Final at 1:30pm (wouldn't be much of a break here)
If we win that game, we go to the Final
Medallian - 2:00pm
Trophy - 2:30pm
Rules
There are quite a few rules, but in summary :
Half Lengths : 10mins, no break in-between. (The finals are 15min halves though)
The White T-Shirts are in case we play a team with similar colours.
3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 for a loss.
We record Goals, Corner Kicks and Kick Offs because :
If goals scored is a tie, Team with most corners is the winner. If Corners are tied, team with the least kick off's is the winner. If that is a tie, the ref tosses a coin with the first team on the draw.
In the final - if goals are tied, 5 minutes each way of overtime is added.
The game of soccer at this age is purely for fun and to uphold the spirit of the game, sportsmanship and integrity.
There will be trophies for the Trophy Competition winners and runners-up, and medallions for the winners and runners up in the Medallion Competition.
Food
During the day there will be a full canteen service with the usual canteen supplies available. (Chips, drinks, coffee, tea, lollies etc) As well as this there will be a BBQ running which will provide bacon and egg sandwiches, sausage sandwiches etc. Pies, sausage rolls and hot dogs will also be available as will a selection of cakes.
As the games are short, I think it would be good if we do have oranges that we can hand out at the end of games during the day. It might be good to bring some snacks that your boy likes.
I've managed to line up 1 reserve for the day - Kye. Hopefully I might get one more so the boys can get a break.
If it does get rained out there is another day allocated for it :
Any questions - just reply, the whole team will get it and I'll reply back to the whole team too.
