HHSC 7B Soccer Team

What a great start to the season. A second win! The boys are are becoming a great team!

First half saw Anthony in the goals (the only boy yet to have a go in goals), showing that he is also a great goal keeper with correct running out, diving for the ball and even using his foot where needed. Well Done Anthony! Michael, Bailey, Alen, Matthew, Luke and Hudson played the field really well against Berowra 7Bs who where a spirited team. There were hard tackles, and lots of running from one end to another. Nearing the end of the first half the ball was fed to Bailey, who got past a defender and shot and excellent goal. Spectacular goal Bailey! A penalty shot just outside our goal box was well defended. 1 nil at half time.

Bailey was eager to get into goals second half. Luke was putting himself in the right places, Hudson was forcing the ball up constantly, Michael was running and passing well. Alen was also so close to scoring, and Matthew was everywhere - putting himself up front too. Anthony was the star goal shooter as usual with 5 excellent goals. Bailey had a couple of good saves this half. Hudson almost scored, as did Luke with a huge in air shot that hit the post.

Near the end of the game I started to see the boys space out and pass it around more. It was very encouraging. Some special mentions for Luke for his 'throw ins' - even directing players where to go, Matthew for trying for the breakaways, Hudson and Micheal for their defense/support, Alen for his dribbling and control, and Anthony for defense and attack. It was also nice to see the boys spread out in positions at kick offs after a goal.

Man of the match went to Matthew for a huge improvement. He has really improved his tackling, ball control and turning the ball. Congratulations Matthew.

2 Weeks off, and no training next Thursday. Will advise for the following week.

Great to hear Hudson is going to soccer camp over the school holidays and I recommend it for everyone else too.
