1st Game of the Season - 6-1 Win!
What a fantastic start to the season. The boys have improved so much in 3 weeks already!
The game started with Michael almost scoring off the whistle! Great work Michael. Alen was in goals. Lindfield E (the other team) was quite good - good at defense and had some runners. There was quite a few challenges by us before Anthony got a goal in. Luke was going great - up front, calling for it and pushing hard. Bailey got the 2nd goal (perfectly executed) after a nice pass to him. Anthony got the 3rd goal and then it was half time.
The 2nd half saw a goal back from Lindfield - one of the girls players ran the ball and did a great shot. Michael was in goals this half, and saved quite a few. Matthew had a great game - really improving. Hudson was running all around them and almost scored! Luke missed a couple, and Anthony came through with a couple of beautiful in-air goals. Alen scored a skillful goal and did some great defending too. Hudson got hurt in a hard tackle but after recovering - couldn't wait to get back on. I saw some great team work this week, it was very encouraging and I'm very proud of all of them. 4 goals in the second half made the full time score 6-1.
Luke got man of the match for great improvement and Matthew got a special mention for some great work.
There's always room for improvement though - we are going to face some tough teams soon.
Thanks to Bailey's Dad Marty for Ref'ing first half, and Anthony's parents for doing shirts and oranges for next week.
