Proposed Changes to Rewards at the end of the Game

I'd like to propose a change to end of game rewards for the boys.

If I don't hear any objections I'll implement it ;-)

I'll get my hands on a small trophy that we can give out for man of the match after each game. The man of the match can go for any particular skill of the game and it evens out during the season so everyone gets a go. As the coach I decide who gets man of the match.

The boy who earns man of the match gets to take the trophy home for the week and needs to bring it to the next game.

This system was proposed to me last year and worked well. A couple of times the trophy didn't make it back to the match, but was handed out at training again.

I'm also ok if parents want to hand out a small lollie bag or a small treat at the end of the game for the entire team. (Note - this was decided not to happen as some kids don't take to sugary treats too well).

I know you had certificates at the end of the game last year - but personally I just see it being too much work for us all. The boys do get a buzz out of getting Man of the Match and I like to award it based on performance too - as all the boys will be improving their skills this year.

Remember you can reply to this email on the website - just click the link below and find the Add Comment link at the bottom of the post on the webpage.

Cheers! Mark.

Comment from Mary Jo:
"I really would prefer not to have lolly bags handed out at the end of games. My kids have problems with sugar and preservatives respectively"

Mary Jo - sounds good to me! I wasn't going to buy them myself either.

The season has just got harder with the regrading as you would expect, and the game has changed to include defence. The boys really had to work hard last Saturday and we sure did miss Allen. Speaking of which without Sead around we need another parent to help with refereeing. (I am going to be away for the June long weekend 10/6/06 or 3 week ends away). Its not hard to do( very few rules) and if you want some training we can give you some at soccer practise.

Kind regards

Marty
