HHSC 7B Soccer Team

It was great to see the boys play together for the first time - and they did very well. Hudson went into goals in the first half (after a quick coaching before the game) and Anthony had to go reserve until his shin pads showed up (can't go on without them).

It wasn't long before the first goal came, and then they just kept coming. Alen was playing excellently - scoring many goals, as was Anthony! Matthew was pushing hard and trying some fancy turn around moves and got a goal too. Bailey was also playing well covering the field and even scored as well. Michael almost scored straight after the whistle and was very strong all half. Luke was trying to find his confidence and Hudson saved a few and let one in. At the end of the first half it was 9-1.

Second half Matthew went in goal, and the diving save was spectacular. Anthony scored some excellent goals - in the air even. Luke found his feet and had a couple of close shots, and Alen again excelled. At the end it was 11-1. (originally posted as 14-1 - but changed due to scorecard - was sure it was more!)

Lots of work still required by me to teach the boys about better teamwork, defense and lots of other things. I'm very proud to be their coach - as they all have good ground-work skills.

Man of the match when to Hudson - his second half efforts were great on the field and he was a good goalie in the first half. It was very impressive for his first ever game.

Mary Jo is doing the shirts this week, and I'll let you know who is doing shirts and oranges over the next few weeks.
