First Training and First Trial Game Coming
1st training was a half training day due to rain. Everyone showed and I got to go over the boys names and faces for the first real time. I think most of the boys where so excited to be back to soccer - they showed it with their eagerness indeed! I needed to eject a few from games because of it. I'll speak to parents individually if this continues.
Before the training session I had prepared the session based on their skills and focusing on having fun and letting me see how there skills were after the holidays. In the half hour I had I actually got through about 6 different games that mainly focused on ball skills. Trying to give the boys experience on what happens if you kick the ball too hard or haven't got it under control - and still having fun.
I really wanted to get to a game at training - I know the boys love that part of training.
A couple of notes :
Day : Sunday (not the usual Saturdays)
Location : Montview
Time to Arrive : 9am
I'll bring the oranges and the man of the match trophy.
Let's all come for a fun day. I'm not expecting much from the boys because they hardly know each other and haven't played together as a complete team. I'm not even going to try to coach from the sideline on this first game - the boys are going to show us what their strengths and weaknesses are and it'll give me something to work on in future trainings.
Come and say Hi to me - I only know a few of you. I'm very much looking forward to the season - I just know we will all get alot out of it.
Oh - Who loves to Referree? (because as coach - I don't)
Thanks,
Mark

A couple of notes :
- We can't use soccer boots with studs until the offical season starts
- We should still use shin pads at all times - don't want injuries
- Can the boys leave their soccer balls at home - or have them put aside with parents when training starts - as they were fighting for their own soccer balls during training.
- Hudson's little brother almost got seriously injured - I almost stepped on him. Can we keep brothers and sisters off the field please.
- It'd be great if all boys could arrive right on 4:30 (or earlier) because we don't have much time and starting with only a few boys is a little awkward.
